Greetings Sorors and Visitors:

Welcome to the official Web site of Nashville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated!

Since 1930, our chapter has been serving the Nashville area, engaging in various service projects that enhance the quality of life within our beloved community. It is our mission to be agents of positive change within our sphere of influence, just as our 22 Founders dared to do in 1913.

The more than 400 members of Nashville Alumnae Chapter contribute to the Nashville community in tangible and life-changing ways. Our local efforts, which fall under the auspices of our national five-point programmatic thrust, include: a Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy program for girls

between the ages of 11-14; a Delta GEMS program for young ladies ages 14-18; our EMBODI program addresses the needs of young men ages 13-17; scholarships to female high school seniors; our Community Outreach supports the Eighteenth Avenue Family Life Center; the homeless community and several health-based non-profits through volunteer efforts and donations.

Additionally, this chapter makes quarterly visits to the Bordeaux Hospital and gives donations to the United Negro College Fund, United Way, and other organizations. Also, we are Life Members of the NAACP Nashville Branch.

In order to maximize our efforts, Nashville Alumnae Chapter partners with others that share its public service goals, such as W.O.M.E.N. (Women On Maintaining Education and Nutrition) to increase awareness of and support for women living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

We hold a signature partnership with The Minerva Foundation, Inc., a non-profit entity, that empowers us to extend our reach into the community through non-traditional scholarships and other donations made to worthy community endeavors.

It is our goal to build coalitions with other women’s organizations and service-oriented groups to engage in Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
